Testimonial: "You can work with someone
every day and still not truly
understand that person until
you get them in a unique
environment like Nuhop. The exercises and teambuiding initiatives help to break down barriers that are usually
present during working hours. We were able to let loose and have some fun."

Residential Outdoor Education Programs
The Nuhop Center for Experiential Learning’s Outdoor Education Programs integrates state and district standards into our curriculum. After conducting an in-depth needs assessment with our clients we design a curriculum based on the academic needs of each school district we serve. Our unique program provides an exceptional balance between experiential, outdoor and environmental education philosophies. We focus on academic and interpersonal skills in an outdoor classroom where students learn from experiencing our natural world. We believe that children should experience a safe, healthy outdoor educational setting in which to develop a sense of community, independence and appreciation for and understanding of the environment. Our Outdoor Education Programs range from day experiences to week long residential and day programs.

Leadership Training

For School Athletic Conferences

The Athletic Conference Leadership Initiative™teenagers learning how to get along!

Athletic competition between schools can often degrade into conflicts and animosity. The Athletic Conference Leadership Initiative™ training session develops understanding and acceptance among conference schools while breaking down barriers created by competition. Students share their school’s unique traditions and celebrate why they are proud of their school. Students leave the The Athletic Conference Leadership Initiative™ training session as friends and develop ways to enhance conference unity. These training sessions can be facilitated at participating schools or at The Nuhop Center for Experiential Learning.

Faith Based Family Programmingcorporate training
The Nuhop Center has partnered with Family Solutions to provide faith based family programming. Family Solutions exist to reconnect families through Parenting with Love and Limits®, retreats, parenting classes, and rites of passage weekends by involving both parents and their children in the same retreat and activities. Family Solutions desires to connect with local churches, counseling agencies, and para-church ministries to help bridge the gap that often forms during the teenage years. The Nuhop Center believes that investing time in the whole family produces effective behavioral results. Therefore we fully endorse the Family Solutions Retreats!

Respite Carecorporate training
The main mission of the Nuhop Center for Experiential Learning is our summer camp program for children with special needs. In order to continue our mission throughout the school year, we have developed three seasonal weekend respite programs to serve the needs of our campers and parents. The respite programs developed for our summer camp clients are scheduled during the Fall, Winter, and Spring. Our respite programs have been such a success over the past few years that we have begun developing specialized programs designed for government and non-profit agencies throughout the state of Ohio.

Respite training

In accordance with our Mission & Beliefs, campers are placed within a compatible group of children with similar needs. In our structured programs, campers receive a specialized placement with staff who understand their individuality. Our staff teaches self-awareness, social development, and creates a safe environment where friendships can be made.
