This unique team development event is centered on the concepts of innovation, coaching and giving feedback, collaboration, effective
communication and sharing of information. The Building Bridges Program uses K'nex toy building products as the focal point of this highly engaging event.
The Scenarios
Participants are told that they work for Building Bridges Inc, a global
supplier of simple machine products that are used in the amusement
park industry. Each Building Bridge Product has been carefully engineered for the utilization in
modern day roller coasters being designed and integrated in amusement parks across the globe.
Building Bridges Inc. has brought all of its brightest engineers and information technology people
together for a design expo event. Corporate has given the information technology and engineering
team the task of designing the most innovative and high tech amusement park product in the world.
The goal is for the promotional design to be created by the end of the design expo event.
The Events
Participants are broken down into mini manufacturing teams and given the task of creating a
specific component of Building Bridges Inc's new amusement park product to be launched at the end of
the design expo event. Before the mini manufacturing teams are sent to their individual manufacturing plants, the whole Building Bridges team is given time to discuss design elements and create an
overall plan for the Amusement Park Design. Once all teams agree to the design elements and the
shared vision Building Bridges Inc;s most innovative and high tech amusement park product, the
teams are released to begin the building process. The mini manufacturing teams are given a certain
time frame to create their component of the project. Once this is complete the mini manufacturing
teams must then collaborate together to connect their design elements together. Modern day communication issues are brought to light in this fun team development session as the whole team collaborates to ensure success. Once all mini manufacturing teams have connected their amusement
park components it is time to test the product. Laughter abounds as the team completes the Building Bridges Adventure.
