The Teacher Leadership Expedition is an adventure-based professional development opportunity for school districts seeking to cultivate leadership capacity within classroom teachers through the use of experiential learning, self-discovery, personal and group challenge and reflective practices.
The curriculum focus for the expedition is centered on three primary objectives:
An introductory examination of Teacher Leadership will be conducted at varying levels for knowledge development, understanding, and professional application.
Use of professional collaborative discourse as a means of critiquing historical, current, and future trends in teacher leadership.
Each participant, or team of participants will develop a Teacher Leadership Blueprint. The blueprint will walk participants through various capacity building exercises, and will lead to an eventual "plan" for cultivating teacher leadership within their buildings, and across their district.
The Teacher Leadership Expeditions are held regionally at State and National Parks. This opportunity encompasses a wide range of fitness levels, and prior backpacking skills are not
necessary. All equipment needed for the expedition, except hiking boots and clothing, will be provided. Food on the trail, as well as transportation to and from the trailhead are also included.

T.E.A.M. Training
This personalized interactive training is designed to give educational professionals the tools and understanding needed to develop a school culture and mindset where responsibility, school spirit, and positive role modeling are the respected norms among students on their middle school and high school campuses.
Different from most nationally marketed transition programs, the T.E.A.M. Program is a completely individualized model that embraces district and building specific needs. No longer do you have to settle for an off the shelf program that only meets a few of your desired outcomes. T.E.A.M. ensures systematic and systemic change centered around your needs!
Your T.E.A.M. Training experience will focus on three core objectives:
Develop a year-long orientation program that fosters the development of social, academic, and leadership capacities of the entire student body.
Create the scenario where new students to the school are welcomed and valued from the moment they walk through the doors.
Develop a fluid network of academic support structures, social interactions, and peer role models that assume responsibility for the success of the new students.
Participants in the Initial Implementation Training (IIT) is to leave with the knowledge and skills needed to:
Train and develop a core group of Student T.E.A.M. Leaders
Implement a year-long transition program that includes a New Student Orientation Day as well as co-create curriculum for Academic and Social Continuations throughout the year.
Develop an efficient and effective networking system for Student T.E.A.M. Leader Initiated Interactions.
The cornerstone to success for any educational environment is the development of a safe, welcoming, and supportive climate. The T.E.A.M. Program ensures that this type of culture shift is not only the responsibility of the adults in the building, but a collective responsibility that will have tremendous cumulative effects for years to come.

With the implications of The No Child Left Behind Act, teachers and administrators don't have enough time to collaborate. Teacher In-Service Sessions at the Nuhop Center provide a template for educators to see each other in a new light and communicate on a human level. Our expertise is facilitating Teacher In-Service Sessions using experiential activities as the tools to meet the desired outcomes of the clients we serve. These experiences provide educators with an opportunity to identify the positive impacts they have on their students and colleagues. The Teacher In-Service Sessions can be facilitated at your school or at the Nuhop Center. LPDC credits are an option based on your district standards.

The Nuhop Center for Experiential Learning provides workshops through Ashland University for graduate credit hours, as well as, LPDC credits based on your district's standards. These workshops have been developed for teachers desiring to learn more about the experiential education field and how to impact student learning through the outdoors.
All workshops will incorporate teaching methods for the special education or regular education teacher.
